A website redesign of the Romanian state authority, charged with conducting financial audit over the way the state, and public resources are managed and used.

Background

As a designer at Eau de Web, I was tasked with the redesign of the website. The client delivered a rough first version of their vision using wireframes. 

The main focus was creating a clean and simple design that communicates trust to the end user, while sticking to a look similar to other European audit portals.

Approach

Visually, the redesign introduced new elements to better communicate the use of a link, button or news article. Inspired by European state audit platforms, a new type face, Inter, was chosen in order to achieve a modern look and keep up-to-date with current design trends. 

Colors and shades were newly proposed and inspired from the existing brand manual, as the client had presented the need for better accessibility and ultimately color contrast; this was achieved successfully. All users where taken into account, as an example, links were kept a traditional bright blue color and line height was chosen accurately to maintain readability. Overall information is displayed in colored boxes, where needed to be highlighted, font weights and sizes for headings are used accordingly, italics where needed, lists and blockquotes to organize information correctly. The entire design process was straightforward.
