Background
Launched in 2011, The InforMEA platform provides easy access to information on MEAs, treaty texts and provisions. Another feature of the platform is the eLearning website that provides free access to courses. The are used in University curriculum of Macquarie University in Sydney, the University of Eastern Finland and the UN system staff college (UNSSC).
The website redesign was thought out by taking into account the main InforMEA Platform and the eLearning website, as well as other UN platforms. Design unification and similarity was very important, however I felt I had enough freedom to introduce new components and colors where needed.

Approach
Getting started required creating a rough "sketch", or more likely a low-fidelity mockup which through iterations became the final product. During this process, a color palette was established, text styles and components were created which went through many changes whenever I received new feedback from the client. Meetings with the client were useful in understanding their wishes for this project...
